For this project you will need:
- Old/new wooden tray
- Black paint
- Rope, I used a twine but you could also use some colourful nylon rope
First, tape up the side of the tray you wish to use as a blackboard or go free hand on the edges if you want more of a rustic look .
- Paint the blackboard side until there is a good even layer
- Drill two holes in one end of the tray and thread a short length of the rope through.
- Fix knots to secure the rope for a handle
And that's all there is to it. An easy project you can do in one afternoon.
My tray was the perfect size to place on the wall to cover our new electrical box in our last house.
I use the blackboard for shopping lists or to leave notes for the hubby. It is also the perfect size to carry food and plates outside for Al Fresco dining.
